Women play a lead role in family and relationships. As caregivers and caretakers, we are the guardians of souls God has placed around us. And many of us are part of the sandwich generation as middle-age adults who are caring for both elderly parents and our own children.
In this midlife stage, many of us juggle a job or career, raise and send off young adults — and then find that we are stepping up to help our elderly parents. The caregiving journey may be escalated if your parents face complex medical conditions, memory loss / dementia, or financial problems.
It helps to have resources
Stepping into a caregiving role with your parents can happen gradually — or very suddenly. Too often, we slide into caregiving without truly assessing the load we acquire — or preparing for it. Caring for parents can be one of our most life-giving roles — and one of the most challenging, particularly if we are unprepared.
To be good caregivers, we need to know our resources and evaluate what we can and should provide. And, we need to know when and how to step into the caregiving role.

Along the way you are likely to experience many emotions. And you’re likely to have a lot of questions as you step into a new role. The Midlife Timeout Community is here to help.

We know you need soul care
All of us want to be soul-fillers. But if we are bone-tired and overwhelmed, we run the risk of giving the ones we care the most about the last little bits of us, the scraps left over from the busyness and hustle of making a life.
And that’s not how we want you to live. We’ll help you create peaceful space and powerful purpose in your hearts. And we’ll help you connect with others on a similar journey, remind you to rest, and help you find your purpose and passion along the way.
